Google Search Engine Algorithm Change

The New SEO Triad I am a fan of SEO, Search Engine Optimization, and I have just read a PDF by Ryan Deiss, which makes the case that Google has recently, in 2010 changed its search engine algorithm, and that the percentage of click distribution on the first page of Google has gravitated to the organic listings preferably over the paid listings. He even stated in his statistics, that the Paid Ads get only 2 to 3% of the available clicks on a page, the PPC ads on the right side of the page, 1-2% and the balance to the Organic free search result listings, with the number one spot receiving over 41-45%, the second listing receives 11-18%. The number 3 search result gets 7-15% and 4 through 9 receive 2%. Oddly, the number 10 spot on the SERP, search engine results page, gets 3%, as many people automatically scroll to the bottom of the page before leaving. That is more than the paid ads are getting. Therefore, the traffic is in the organic listings, and the job is to do those things necessary to get to page one and then to stay there. He mentioned that several years ago the paid ads received more than 10% of the total available clicks. Ryan stated that Google changed its search algorithms this year to require Activity in addition to good content and in addition to the site having significant inbound links. This means that it will be more difficult to put up one page static lead capture pages or affiliate sites and to get them to page one of Google, and, more importantly to be able to keep them there. If this is actually fact, and I do not have the expertise to actually comment upon that other than the fact that I have no reason to think otherwise. This means that other types of web pages would be required that incorporate website change in content or activity, such as new content in the form of blogs, comments, RSS feeds etc. are probably going to be required for at least long term residency on page one of a Google SERP. That is one of the reasons that wordpress is such an excellent platform, as it will incorporate many means of accepting change in activity, and therefore, I am going to have to quit dragging my feet in the sand and sit down and learn it. Converting a ton of static webpage's should do the job, I hope, and without much pain, I also hope. I definitely am going to spend more time learning about this subject, and I am going to subscribe to Ryan's newsletter, if he has one. This news was so interesting to me that I wanted to get it to you all as soon as possible.

Where did Ryan get his numbers from, they are at variance with numbers I have found elsewhere.
